The first day of racing at the Musto SA Schools Team Sailing Championships got underway today at the Port River Sailing Club with a great deal of action both on and off the water.

We caught up with a few people around the club today to talk about how the regatta is going so far and what we can expect

Tim Went – Race Officer

We spoke to Tim Went, the race officer for the event about what we can expect from the Port River conditions and what his goals are for the week. He said he wanted to get as much racing in as possible and for the kids to have a lot of fun.

Gil Casanova & Rose O’Donnell – St Joseph’s 2

We caught up with two of the St Joseph’s 2 skippers, Gil and Rose, who have come over from Port Lincoln for the state championship. The pair of them are enjoying the regatta so far and have high hopes for their team.

Ollie Hankinson & Chris Derrick – Ocean View College

The Ocean View College outfit has been preparing for this event through their training at the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia. We spoke to coach Chris and captain Ollie about how things are going so far and what they want to achieve.
