One of the oldest boats in the South Australian international cadet fleet has undergone a major restoration to be the first Goolwa-based boat on the water in the 2016/17 season.

Ella Konings and Amy Short, both of whom have made their way into cadets from the optimist class, will sail the boat throughout a number of the cadet events this season, culminating with the national championships at the Largs Bay Sailing Club in January.

The boat was restored by International Cadet Class of Australia president Peter Royle, who said he hoped it would bring more interest and growth into the class in South Australia.

The boat is called Wilson (AUS 5611).

Wilson, which has been recently restored, is the newest cadet in the SA fleet.
