The season of learn to sail has kicked off in South Australia with three clubs along the metropolitan coastline all running Tackers programs.
The Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club and Adelaide and Largs Bay sailing clubs are all running the junior learn to sail program and are seeing increasing numbers coming in through during school holidays and on Saturday mornings.
Adelaide Sailing Club Sailing School coordinator Tod Weymouth said it was promising for the sport to see so many enthusiastic young children taking up sailing and having a lot of fun.
He said those that were interested in sailing, regardless of their age, or had children that were interested, should contact their local club to see how they could get involved.
Holiday programs will be run in the summer holidays at most clubs and there are always opportunities to get down to a club and see what it is all about.
