The 9ers headed into the third day of championship racing yesterday with a positive forecast and a plan to complete four more races before the lay day.
The breeze was a little on the light side with an 8 to 12-knot southwesterly testing out the skills of the skiff sailors and creating close and exciting racing amongst the three fleets.
29er sailors Annabelle Davies and Tom Cunich in Hot Koolade hold a narrow lead over second-placed Tom Crockett and Max Paul in NHS after 12 races.
In the 49er class David Gilmour and Joel Turner hold a five-point lead over their younger counterparts Harry Price and Harry Morton after the leaders dropped their UFP from their second race today.
Isabelle Kennedy and Jasper Warren hold the lead in the 49erFX fleet with a solid eight-point lead over second-placed Haylee Outteridge and Simon Hoffman in Bubba Gump Shrimp.
With a lay day today, the sailors will enjoy the day off with the forecast predicting a scorching 41 degrees in Adelaide. This will give the sailors a chance to gear up for the final two days of racing on Saturday and Sunday.
