2017-18 National Championships

With the fun and excitement of the recent Nationals in Sydney now behind us, it is time to turn our attention to the next Championship series which is to be held in beautiful Busselton, Western Australia.

The 55th Australian National Cherub Championship will be held at Geographe Bay Yacht Club (GBYC) located at 1 King Street, Busselton WA 6280.

Busselton is located approximately two and a half hours drive south of Perth, close to the Margaret River region and many wonderful WA holiday destinations.

Racing Area
Racing will be held inside the bay area with launching off the beach and little to no swell.

Dates
The championship is planned for the 27th Dec 2017 to the 5th Jan 2018 with the 27th and the morning of the 28th set aside for measurement.

Transport
Transportation to Busselton from the airport in Perth is available through several regular bus and shuttle services:

In addition to these commercial services WA Cherub sailors will have spare seats and will be more than happy to fill them depending on what days and time flights arrive. Please contact the WA Association Representatives to organise a seat accordingly.

Accommodation

There is plenty of accommodation within walking distance of the club also close to shops and the town centre.  However, Busselton, is a popular holiday spot and accommodation will already be selling out.  Please have a look at the below links to see accommodation pictures, locations, and rates:

The Geographe Bay Yacht Club offer non powered Camping Sites for $15 per night, please contact WA Cherub Association Representatives for further information.

Containers
Containers belonging to visiting teams will be stored inside a fenced area at the club close to the rigging lawn.
